Do I need stitches?

I was just walking out of dd's room and ran into her door! I cut my upper lip - its not bleeding too bad, but it is swollen. Its about a half-inch cut above my lip.

I really don't want to bring all 3 kids with me to urgent care if I don't need to - but I also don't want to be left with a bad scar. I'm wondering if I could just use a butterfly bandage or silicone gel product on it since it isn't bleeding too much. Any advice? Thanks for any help!

If you pinch the cut edges together and then let go, does it gap? If so, I'd get it looked at.

Yes, it does :( Not a very big gap...but it does gap. I just can't believe I did this!
