I am currently trying to improve the eating habits for everyone in our little family. :)

I'm now working on snacks... :)

I feel like DD eats the same snack food day after day...

Here's what she is currently hung up on...
Gerber Sweet Potato Stars (she still loves these... go figure)
Nuts (starting to enjoy nuts recently)
goldfish (doesn't like various flavored bunnies...)
Crackers (and cheese)
Yogurt with fruit (getting tired of this one)
Cereal bars (sometimes)
Fruit with cheese (or pb if not for lunch)
Celery with cheese spread (occasionally)

I have tried all kinds of granola bars/trail mixes -- no luck. She will also not eat cereals for a snack. (And I don't let her have fruit rollup type things or fruit gummy snacks, etc. )

Also, when you pack your child's lunch for school, do you pack something sweet (ie pudding, healthy cookies, graham crackers, etc.) If so, what do you allow?

Only options really for snacks at our house are:
cheese
turkey or chicken slice (applegate farm deli)
fruit (including blueberries -- the current big hit) -- not a ton but some
veggies (we always have something in the fridge -- am trying to keep a salad in there to pick from
cracker -- on occasion
yogurt -- on occasion
cereal -- on occasion

the on occasion items are depending on what else he has eaten that day (eg if cereal for breakfast then not for snack) and what I plan for dinner. It helps that we don't have anything else in the house. Over the summer fruit bar popsicles were an option at times (100% fruit juice sort of thing) and for potty training we have had kid's cliff bars on hand which I plan to phase out soon.

I find it easier to not even have items in the house so it isn't a discussion.

whole grain bread or toast with something on top like cheese or jam

unsweetened yogurt w/ fruit
cheese
hard boiled egg (with wire egg slicer tool, which makes it more fun for a 4 year old)
"one minute muffin" (a muffin you mix right in a coffee cup and pop in the microwave for 1 minute)
sprouted grain bread w/ peanut butter or butter
leftovers
frozen waffles
fruit (or something like apple and peanut butter together)
veggies
both kids like seaweed sheets and eat small pieces like a cracker (weird, I know, but a lot of kids I know IRL like this oddly enough). It is salty and I think that's part of the appeal.
DS eats nuts on occasion as a snack
homemade Lara bars (DS). We usually have these on hand as DH likes them for work.

That probably covers 95% of their snacks.

applesauce
cheesesticks
rice cakes (sometimes)
grapes
baby bagels

We just started preschool. So far I've just put fruit for dessert...no complaints yet! :)

We have challenges getting DS to eat vegetables (except leafy greens - I can't get him to stop eating my sorrel plant!), so we're always looking for ways to sneak them in - I'm hoping this thread will give me some inspiration.

Anyway, DS & DD both snack on:
Cheese sticks
Terra chips (Mediterranean flavour)
Flat Earth chips (both the fruity ones and the veggie ones)
Annie's Honey Bunny & Cheddar Bunny crackers
Fig Newmans (a whole wheat organic version of Fig Newtons)
Late Harvest Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers
Plums (from our tree)
Pears (from our tree)
Avocados
Cereal bars
Yoghurt topped with cereal

Not sure how healthy ours are. Trying desperately to get DS to eat more fruit and veggies. Our current list that he will eat:

cheese
yogurt
fruit bar
dry cereal
pretzels
fruit snacks
crackers

Trying to branch out and get him to try and eat more things. Making a list from this thread.

For those that eat plain yogurt, which brand do you use? I love it myself, but bought some for DS and it was waaay too tart. He sent it back and said "this needs blueberries". I don't like how overly sweet the sweetened yogurt is, but the plain is just too tart. I tried adding jam or honey and used so much to cover the tartness that it cancelled out the good I was trying to do.
