i am an 8th/9th grade teacher. we have to come up with a new club every 9 weeks.. i am running out of ideas.. what will they like to do..

i have done..

uno club
card club
board games
basketball
volleyball
walking
yoga
weight lifting
coloring
reading

and so forth.. anyone have any more suggestions for me.. thanks

Green (recycling, etc.)
Service (food drive, maybe a good one for the holidays)

Hmmm, I have a 7th grader....I am assuming this if after school. What about: a book club, some sort of charity work, art, creative writing (put together a book of their workat the end, journalism, theatre/acting, film, dance, singing, chess.........that's all I can think of for now.

you listed some games and sports so you can always add more of those.

arts such as photography, painting, etc.

crafts such as scrap booking, jewelry making, wood working, etc.

awareness and activism: environmental, multicultural, charity work, animals, etc.

if i think of anything else i'll let you know.

Yearbook -- do they even do those anymore? Maybe a digital yearbook?

I really like the idea of a service club- I think at that age in particular, it could make them feel really good about themselves.

How about something financial- either basic financial stuff, or stock market stuff.

United Nations Club (assign small groups or pairs to different countries)
World Sports Club (learn about sports not commonly played in the US - hurling, camogie, cricket, australian rules football, darts, etc)

thank you for all your posts. you all are great.. it is only a 35 min. club every 6 days.. but i love the geocaching or letterboxing. dh has great ideas for this. these ideas will help me get through the year. i have to come up with 4 new ones each year.. thanks so much
