I still haven't figured this one out :ROTFLMAO: I used newspaper all this while but I wouldn't recommend it ;)
What do people use? Does that peel and stick thing work? Does it ever come off?

I use something called 'shelf liner'! :) Helpful, I know. Not trying to be snarky, I promise, I can't remember the official name.
It is a roll of liner, I bought it at Target in the same aisle as the contact paper. It is slightly sticky-it clings to the cabinet shelf and to the stuff you have in it but it doesn't stick to the shelf, so easy to put in and out. Also, it cleans really really well.
HTH!

I just use regular Contact paper. I've never had a need to peel it off in the 6 years I've been living in my own home. I think some of my mom's cabinets have the same Contact paper that she installed when she moved in to our house 23 years ago!

Nothing. I did not know I was supposed to use anything. What is the purpose of a liner?

I use the same stuff Beth does. I've been very happy with it, and I'm on my third kitchen of using it. Takes a bit of work to cut it to the right size, but once you get going it's not too bad.

For most of our cabinets & drawers we used a product called Life Liner (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=10538831) that we got at Bed Bath and Beyond. There are two different sizes and then it is cut to fit. My parents had moved recently and used it in their kitchen and recommended it to us when we moved. The Container Store has a similar product (http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml;jsessionid=4WMKA3XACAVLJQFIAIMCM44AV ABBSJVC?CATID=64222&PRODID=60270), but I have never tried it.

I also have some cabinets lined with a grippy, cushioned shelf liner (http://www.organize.com/gripliner.html) that I have purchased at the dollar store (off brand) and Walmart (Contact brand).

Thanks for the replies - I forgot about the shelf-liner. I bought a huge roll from Costco.
I use it in my drawers but I don't like it one my shelves - because I can't slide things out - the liner is too grippy (yes, that is the official word :ROTFLMAO: ). I stack my bowls, plates etc so I tend to slide them out a bit and lift off the top one (or however many I need). I hope I'm talking about the same things as everyone else!
Maybe I will try using nothing - gosh, how novel ;)

Life liner. It doesn't stick. I use it cabinets and drawers.
