Our DD2 is now 2 months & a 1/2 months old. We currently have a bjorn that we used with DD1 who is now 5. And like so many others, my back would be killing me after a half hour of use. I would so much like to find a ring sling but am finding myself totally confused. So far I have tried a hotsling - DD2 hated being crunched in it...screamed to get out. It didn't have a ring on it though...I bought it at Target. I also tried the babyktan, but I could not figure out how to get it on properly. I see Mom's walking around with these simple looking slings, babies smiling happily. My DD2's favorite position is to be up on my shoulder looking around. I saw an adjustable sling called a Balboa but couldn't tell if it could only be used for front carrys. Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Jan at sleepingbaby.net makes great slings in a variety of fabrics and prices. I bought my first ring sling from her. I'd read through her site, and check with her before buying to make sure you are getting a fabric that will work well for you. Some fabrics are more/less supportive or easier/harder to use.

Another great sling is the Kalea Baby sling, but they seem to be harder to get right now.

On the pricey end are Pslings and Sakura Blooms. I love my Psling, but the shoulder style doesn't work for everyone.

Oh, I've also heard great things about Maya Wraps, especially the "lightly padded" sling. http://www.mayawrap.com
