DS is 3 and since starting preschool I have started to notice he is not overly social. He seems to prefer to be off to the side. Even with neighborhood kids who he has known for a year and plays with every night he often prefers to be on his own. They often ask him to come play and he sometimes does but genrerally he seems not as interested in being part of the pack. He is about 6 months younger than the next youngest kid next door. He doesn't seem painfully shy just not overly interested in other kids. He is very verbal and generally bright. He interacts well with adults (me/DH/grandma/grandpa).

Anyone btdt? Anything I should be concerned about? Thoughts?
TIA!

My DD#1 is like this. I wouldn't worry. Some kiddos are introverts, some are extroverts. I apparently have 1 of each (DD#2 is most likely going to be an extrovert, the difference between she and DD#1 is quite noticeable).
