We received a gift card for our 5 month old boy. We try to buy things we may need i the future. At the moment, we can't think of anything.
Suggestions?

If it doesn't expire or lose value, keep it til you need it. Just my opinion. One day (probably soon), you will need it!

How close is he to outgrowing his infant seat (if he's using one)?

You could get a nice convertible seats when he's ready.

I'd get a Stokke Tripp Trapp.

I would get the Tripp Trapp at hipbabygear.com with the 20% off code.

Personally, I'd hold onto it and nickel and dime it. There are so many things that Amazon has better prices on - or great sales the mamas on here post about. It's easier to order two books there than to go to the store with a baby. Like...Child of Mine by Ellyn Satter and...Baby 411 or whatever you don't have... Then, later maybe shoes or babyproofing supplies or diapers if they go on some crazy sale again later.

I would hang on to it for a while. When it gets closer to Christmas, they have such awesome deals, you never know what you might find!

Thanks everyone for the response.
My boy is at 95% percentile for his age (20lb, 28") and he is 2 weeks shy of his 5m. He is already on size 5 Huggies.
We recently bought the MacLaren Techno XT stroller for him.
We buy diapers from Costco.
We don't have a car so there is no urgent need for carseat. His SafeSeat will probably last another month or so (he fits snugly in it).

Thanks for the recom about Tripp Trapp. This is the first time I heard of it. I thought Baby Bargains recommended the Fisher high char.

To add to the other recommendations... sell it on ebay! I have sold gift cards (i.e. $500 Tiffany) on ebay and then used the money to buy something I wanted at the store I wanted.
