$25 certificates are now $2. Enter Discount Code: EIGHTY At Checkout. With the economic crisis, I have noticed that some of the nicer restaurants in our area are now participating. While there may be a minimum purchase or day of the week restriction, it is overall a great deal.

ETA: The code expired at noon CDT. I just received a new email for 60% off, good until 11:59 PM CDT on 10/19. Enter Discount Code: MORE

ETA: 60% off at Restaurant.com until 10/26 Code: SAVOR

ETA: Use code: TREATS - 80% off Savings on $25 Gift Certificates. $2 when you use code - Expires 10/31/08

We've never tried this -- is it just like a regular gift certificate? So, if my bill is $50 and I have 2 $25 Restaurant.com certificates, I'll owe the restaurant nothing additional? If so, this seems like a phenomenal deal!

Usually there is a minimum purchase and you can only use one certificate per meal. So if the bill was $50 and you had a 25 certificate you would owe $25. That is how it works for the restaurants around here.

Yeah be sure to check all the fine print on when you can use these.
I vaguely remember one said only for parties of 4 and up (or something) - there are other restrictions on days and times.
We used to buy these a lot when we actually had time to go out to dinner........I'm surprised I can remember that far back :ROTFLMAO:

I got an email from them about it yesterday. It said, "Offer ends at 11:59AM CDT on Wednesday, October 15, 2008."

They seem to be offering a lot of big discounts lately....

This is incredible - just bought $100 worth of certificates for $16 - even with the fine print requirements this is an amazing deal. I didn't realize there were such good restaurants in our area participating. Thanks SO much OP - I wouldn't have known to try this otherwise!

Some of the resturants by me state the following:

Minimum food purchase of $35. Present prior to ordering.

So does that mean I give them my g.c. for $25 and then have to pay the difference of $15? Or can I give them two g.c?

I believe you can use only 1 certificate each time, per table, normally once a month at the same restaurant. Note that $35 does not apply to drinks, food only ( desert included). I've used restaurants.com for many years & have had no problem per their rules.

Note: read the fine prints of each restaurant; some now require to present the certificate when ordering, some will include 18% tip at the time the bill is run; some popular ones restricted Sun-Thu only. Still, it saves quite a good amount of $23 (after $2 purchase of the certificate) & you can use within a year fr.the purchase date. IMHO, It is better than the deal fr. entertainment book (w/ so many restrictions: Sun-Thu, no holidays, sitting prior 6PM or after 8PM on Fri/Sat, etc.).
