This is the dress. (http://slimages.macys.com/is/image/MCY/products/3/optimized/420653_fpx.tif?bgc=255,255,255&wid=167&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bicub&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg)

It's the only dress I own that fits my new, nursing mama shape. But it's white! Is it still considered gauche to wear white to a wedding? Maybe if I wear a colorful pashmina as well?

TIA!

IMO, you should never wear all white to a wedding (it's the brides day to stand out) but this dress is trimmed in black so I think it would be okay especially with a colored shaw over it.

Is it really that big a deal to wear a dress with white in it that's unweddingy? I think it's ok, but folks might disagree. If it were prom gowny or even just floor length, I'd maybe say eh. But seems ok to me, especially if you do a pashmina or scarf!

I think it's fine. You won't be showing up the bride... it has black trim and if you wore a shawl with it, it's all good in my opinion!

I wouldn't bother with the scarf unless you want to wear it. I think it looks fine for a wedding. It's not solid white and doesn't look like a bridal gown.

Well, technically it's not all white. And if you wear a wrap or something with it I think it should be fine.

the only problem will be if the groom turns to watch you nurse!

The don't wear white to a wedding idea is very old school. I had a snowball wedding where my bridesmaids wore white and I don't think they took attention from me! If you like the dress go ahead and wear it.

Totally lovely and appropriate! And I like the idea of the colored pashmina as well! :)
Have a great time!!!

Nah, there's plenty of black on the dress...and doesn't look like a bridal gown. You'll be fine! :-)

I was raised with a lot of heavy-duty Southern rules, and they have stuck. I am absolutely against a guest wearing white to a wedding. Having established that, I think *that* dress is just fine! It isn't all white. The black is more than just trim, it is a major part of the dress. I say wear it and enjoy. And feel beautiful!

It is not all white. It would be perfectly acceptable to wear to a wedding.

I think it's fine too! I definitely wouldn't go buy another dress to fit your "new, nursing mama shape" when you already have that one. It's very pretty! Have fun :)

It's a great dress go for it.
