Well if I'd known all it took to get me pregnant was scheduling a colposcopy, I'd have tried it during the two years I was TTC DS1.

In the immortal words of Ms. Spears, "Oops, i did it again"

As you may remember, two months ago, i had to postpone both a root canal and a colposcopy, because I found out I was pregnant on the day of the planned root canal (and a few days before my scheduled colposcopy). Then a week later, I was no lnger pregnant.

Well I rescheduled the colposcopy for yesterday. And, just to be safe, I thought I'd pee on a stick, since my period was actually due to start today (I was actually more concerned that I'd start bleending a day early and have to postpone for that reason. I suppose there was a little inkling of suspicion in the back of my mind. We'd had unprotected sex (once, several days before I expected to ovulate), and there was that one morning when I stood up from the couch and felt dizzy (although I also had a cold at the time).

Well here we are, two lines later. I called my Ob/Gyn office to see what to do next, and am now waiting for a call back to schedule my next appointment. I'm a little concerned about putting off the colposcopy again, since my original Pap test was several months ago, and who knows what's going on down on my cervix. Of course I'm not counting my chickens, but we are cautiously excited about another baby...especially since this month was my last chance to squeeze a baby in (or rather out) before my 40th birthday. It would be a nice gift.

Congrats!
That's awesome!

You may not need to reschedule the colposcopy if you are nervous. I had one done when I was pregnant. They just looked around...they said they wouldn't do any biopsying until the baby was born (I am assuming unless they saw something serious).

Congratulations! :)

I just had a colpo done recently, and there was a small chance I was pg. They told me it would be fine, and they just would not biopsy if I was (found out I wasn't before though).

Congratulations! FWIW, I had a colposcopy when pregnant (established pregnancy, like 10-12 weeks along). It caused some bleeding, but nothing serious, except scaring the crap out of me! That pregnancy was not compromised, though, since DS is now 6 years old! The dr. said that it was absolutely necessary to have done, since he didn't want to have to remove my uterus after I had the baby (he said it had happened before). Fortunately, with me, it wasn't that serious, though I did have to have a LEEP following my second child's birth. Good luck to you and sending you sticky vibes!

Congrats to you! I had a colposcopy w/ biopsy done when I was pregnant. My 9 month old is proof that it is safe. I had a lot of bleeding and some cramping but the doctor said that it had to be done!

When I saw your shingles post, I realized I never replied to this thread. I vividly remember your posts from a couple of months ago - the rain, gloom and sorrow over the pregnancy loss. Sending P&PT for a healthy pregnancy and speedy recovery from shingles.
