DH and I are stumped on a name for #3. He's vetoed my favorite names (Eleanor and Elizabeth) and I'm not crazy about the ones that he is suggesting. His favorite is Calista, which just makes me think of Ms. Flockhart. There are a few that we both sort of like:

Lilah Beth
Sarah Josephine
Cara ?

DD is Annabelle and DS is Finn. Our last name is Irish and sounds sort of like Hardy. I'd prefer something that wasn't super popular. Any suggestions are welcome!

I love Lilah, and I think it sounds great with you other children's names.

I was going to suggest Cara and then saw it on your list. I also like Lauren.

There is a website www.nymbler.com where you can put in a list of names and it will generate other names that go well with it.

I put in Annabelle and Finn and these are some of the girls names it generated:

Phoebe
Nora
Avery
Charlotte
Amelia
Deirdre
Maeve
Audra/Audrey
Maren
Elise
Fiona

That's just a few...there were a ton of them. It's a cool site!

**I do like Lilah though!!

I like Lilah, but what about Caroline - n/n Cara?

I like Nora with your other names. Plus it is a derivation of Eleanor, so you win! ;)

Caroline is a favorite of mine. I am not a big fan of Lilah--I like Lilly better but it definitely is more popular.

What about Evelyn? Or Gabrielle?

We are having a boy, but if we would have had a girl we were going to go with Ayla. Or Aila. You could do Ayla Elizabeth. That sounds nice.

Well if your going to be Irish - how about Bridget or Kaitlyn :)?

Cara means "friend" or "soulmate" in gaelic. I like that it's Irish w/o being in your face Irish (Neve, Onya) - not because I don't love Irish names - but because my husband's last name is really long and not even remotely compatable with a very ethnic first name. Think "Mave Gupta" or "Finbar Polanski". I would sooo name my son Finbar if I could b/c I love the nn "Finn".

As a Buffett lover myself, how about Delaney? I really like the song Delaney talks to Statues... If we ever have a girl and I can talk DH out of his preference for ultra-feminine girls' names it will be one of my top choices.

I personally like Susannah and that keeps a double N like your other two but maybe that is too close to your DD.

One of DD's best friends is named Trista - it popped into my head when you said your DH likes Calista. But I vote Eleanor - its my niece's name and I love it! Several good nicknames too - Ella, Ellie, Nora....good luck!

Eleanor and Elizabeth were on our girls list so I thought I'd mention our other favs.

Margaret
Elliot
Beatrice
Hannah

I like Lilah and Sarah, although Sarah is a bit over done. A few other thoughts...

Meghan
Caroline (nn Cara; prefer Cara as a nn)
Charlotte
Katherine
Lauren
Alexandra
McKenna (double n)
Brianna (double n)

I also like Elizabeth (DD1's name) and Eleanore. Perhaps you can salvage one as a middle name. Other potential middle names

Delaney (love the Buffet reference by a PP)
Riley
Ansley

Thanks so much for the suggestions, everyone! It really helps more than flipping through our book of 10,000 baby names. I'm printing out the thread for DH in the hopes that he will give up on his campaign for Calista.

I just named dd#2 Lila, so I'm partial to the name. I really love Nora as well and would have picked that in a minute but it just sounded to cutesy with my other dd's name. We also considered Lydia, Audra and Greta.
Hope you find something that you love!

May I humbly suggest my own DD's name, Clara? Like Cara but also has the L like Calista....
