I don't mean what they sell at whole foods but from a free range farm? I can't seem to find a place drivable from me -- checked out eatlocal.com -- anyone have a recommendation for mail order?
TIA!

Chickens eat grass?? I thought free range chickens ate bugs. Seriously.

I don't have personal experience w/ mail order as we're fortunate to live in an area of NC with many grassfed beef/egg/chicken farms available. The only mail order meat I've ever received was Omaha products (not grassfed obviously).
I don't know what prices you are finding, but this place is somewhat local to me and I know they ship. I've never personally purchased from them (I have options that are only a few miles away from my house), but I've driven by there and the cattle definitely have tons of room to roam and the place appears to be well-cared for (again, just by driving by, but it looks decent enough)
This is for beef, not chicken...

Have you checked this link for mail order pastured chicken?

You could also try finding a local chapter of something like the Weston A Price Foundation, as the members of that group are often very into pastured meats, pastured eggs, grass fed dairy, etc. and they can probably direct you to some resources.
