So we have some M&D floor puzzles. Most are 48 pieces and too easy for her already. Wondering what the next step up would be? I want to get her a couple of puzzles for Christmas that will challenge her a bit.

Thanks in advance!

I love the Ravensburger puzzles. Also the M&D regular puzzles. She's probably ready for 60 and even 100 piece puzzles if she can do 48 pieces ones easily.

Try kidsurplus.com for a good ones at a bit reduced prices.

Thanks! I found some Ravensburger ones on Kidsurplus that I liked. I'm gonna get a 60 piece and a 100 piece and see how she does.

I would look for some of the 100 piece floor puzzles. They are definitely more challenging! I have some in my classroom. We have been in school 3 months and they haven't gotten one (a rain forest one, but I can't find a link for it) of them together yet. We have the under the sea one at home and it is challenging! Target has some cool M & D 100 piece sets of 2 puzzles.

Here are some that look cool...

The other thing I would think might be fun is teaching your DC games like chess or set (http://www.threewishestoystore.com/Set-Enterprises-SET-Board-Game-p/1000.htm)(a card game of matches, it is like a puzzle, you can teach younger kids who are good at puzzles if you follow the starter directions). If DC is reading/making words a puzzle game like Bananagrams (http://www.threewishestoystore.com/Bananagrams-Word-Game-p/ban001.htm) is a great never ending puzzle. Many kids aren't ready for this until a bit older, but it sounds like your DC is above the age curves for puzzling.

I am determined to only buy my child educational toys. If he wants some silly little toys of course I will oblige, but as far as what I choose they will be educational. So I have found the following sites with great puzzles for kids!

I looked today and the ones that the Kindergarten kids are struggling with vary in piece number but seem to be the Ravensburger and also Frank Schaffer floor puzzles. The backgrounds are similar on each piece so the kids have to look at the details. So maybe look for the Frank Schaffer ones at a teachers store as well.
