How long can you keep a bottle of wine in the fridge after it's been opened? What I mean is, how long before it goes bad?

I don't drink a lot of wine (in the past few years I've noticed migraines tend to follow a glass of wine) but I like to cook with it- white and red wines. But many times I can't tell if an opened bottle has gone sour until I've tasted it and I HATE HATE HATE doing that.

I have a recipe I'd like to make tonight calling for a cup of red wine and I have a bottle in the fridge that I opened 7 days ago. Can I still use it?

I'd use it. But then again, I buy the cheapest rotgut I can find for cooking:loveeyes:

For cooking, I think it's fine.

I think for cooking you would be fine. You should get a Vacu Vin. They help keep your wine "fresher" for longer.

I think we got ours at Bed Bath and Beyond or somewhere like that...

For cooking I think it's fine. For cooking purposes, you can also freeze your leftover wine in ice cube trays.

For drinking, I would drink a white for a day or two after being opened if it was vacuum sealed, but I would not drink a red the next day in most cases.

I wouldn't begin to know, it never lasts that long in my house! :ROTFLMAO:

Leftover wine, what a sin! I thought that is why the cork is hard to get out and doesn't go back in easily!
