This is a fantastic game and looks beautiful and colorful...but there are 40 small, wooden pieces of fruit. And, they give you NO extra pieces. What is up with that? Besides playing the game, DS likes to "wash" the fruit in his kitchen and I find myself hovering over him to make sure that none of the pieces get lost. I don't want to be like this!

So, I am wondering if anyone knows how to get extra game pieces from Haba. I couldn't find anything on their website or from doing a google search in general.

On another note, in case anyone needs a gift idea, DS (4 yrs) got the game "The Cat and the Hat- I Can Do That!"-- it is fun, interactive and something that a range of ages can enjoy (and there aren't small pieces!)

I would love to know this, as well. I'm convinced that our game started off with only 8 pairs of cherries instead of 10 b/c there's no way that we could have lost 2 pairs of cherries within the first 5 minutes of game ownership. DD likes to take all of the baskets of fruit at the end of the game and have a picnic with them. I'm surprised we're not missing more than the 2 cherry sets.

If you find out a way to get extras, please let me know!

Do you have the full sized Orchard game? IIRC the food that comes with it is the same size as Haba's regular playfood (which is fairly small in scale compared with Melissa and Doug for example). If you go to the retailers that sell Haba playfood, you should be able to buy individual pieces of food. If you don't have the full sized Orchard game (they sell 1-2 smaller sizes as well I think?), then that obviously won't help.

I thought that we had the full sized game, but the fruit is about 1/2 inch long. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I am that they don't give you extras. The fruit is too nice looking and cute to not want to have a picnic with it... and sometimes fruit does get lost on a picnic.

I meant to post this in Around the House. Should I move it, or just leave it here?

I contacted Haba that we bought new and it was missing a few wooden pieces. There was an insert with the game that said they always offered free replacement pieces so I emailed them and they sent them for free. Here is their website.

I just found the actual replacement part link on their web site.

Like NewGrandma said, if you contact them they will send you replacement pieces for free. We lost a couple of fruits from our Orchard game, and three of the baskets were destroyed when the Game fell from a high shelf, and they replaced everything free of cost. Haba has great customer service!
