I've never purchased from Usborne, but I have heard good things. I think I'm going to place an order. I have a DD who is going to be 3 in a couple of months. What are your favorites?

Thanks,

Jenny

We have 3 and like them all. Here are the titles and our favorite quotes:

Frog on a Log
Toad Makes a Road ("But toads can't make roads," says Billy, "that's silly.")
Goose on the Loose ("Toad groans and drops a heavy load.")

Two of our favorites are by Stephen Cartwright:

All 3 of my kiddos (5, 3, 1) especially like the 123 one. There is a little rubber duck that hides in all of the pages which my kids think is hilarious. The illustrations are also adorable.

DD LOVES the Usborne Search books. they're like I Spy but bigger and better. they're great because the things to search for are in pictures and words; so many search and finds are just a list of words and not suitable for young kids who aren't reading. we love the illustrations too. i like to keep one in the car, and i often put one in my bag for when we got to a restaurant.

here's a link to a list of a bunch of them.

DD, who is a little over 3, LOVES the Usborne farm books... um, I forget the name but it is a compilation of farm stories. She also has "Complete Book of First Experiences" (i'm convinced this book helped her prepare for her first dentist visit which was tear free!) and loves it. i have read it so many times I have it memorized! Usborne books are great!

The Big Book of Things to Spot is my girls' favorite!

The Big Book of things to Spot is fun, but for reading, The Complete Book of Farmyard Tales is great! Kaya loves it and it comes with a CD, so when we got tired of reading, she could just listen to the CD. Also, the way it's designed, the top row of words is easier to read than the bottom row (which adds details), so Kaya was able to read the top parts first and then was able to read the rest later. She still loves the book and will read to her little sister. The extra fun part of the book is that there is a hidden duck on each page and both girls like to try finding it.
