Has it started yet? I wanted to get some halloween decorations and maybe a few costumes.

Costumes were 30% off last night.

On Sunday the Dollar Spot Halloween stuff was 50% off but the regular "home decor" was not on sale yet. Strange...

As of yesterday the costumes were 30% off, but the housewares (I price checked a jack-o-lantern muffin pan) and the Halloween-themed kids clothes were still full price.

Really odd -- in the last few years I've missed it because it happened so early before Halloween. On the one hand, it is nice to be able to walk into a store at the last minute and actually find a costume or a pumpkin still in stock -- I just wish I knew when it was going to happen.

Yeah, I am wondering if there will be a big markdown tomorrow or if they will wait until Monday. I think there are halloween parties/events over the weekend so they may postpone the big clearance, ykwim?

That makes sense, I did not think of that. I was lucky last year to hit the sales at 75 and 90% off. I got some steals that I am enjoying this year.

Octobermommy, when were sales last year....I don't remember if I saw them or not?

I found awesome deals at Kmart after Valentines day, I may try going there over the weekend. Our kmarts are so yucky they don't get nearly as much traffic and so they may have more leftover stuff than target

Thanks ladies. That was a good point made about the big clearance not being until AFTER the wknd, b/c ppl are still having parties. I may pop by target tonight, just to see, after I put the kids to bed if I have any energy left, lol.

Today my Target was 30% off costumes, reg. price on everything else. I still had to buy candy for tonight (I buy it on Halloween, not because of sales, but because if it's in the house I'll eat it all before Halloween!)

I should remember but I don't. I think I waited until someone else posted that it was 75% off and then I totally lucked out by being at the right place right time for the 90% off. Perhaps I am in Target too much!

I usually go the morning after Halloween and everything is a minimum of 50% off. I'll probably go at some point tomorrow so I'll post what I find out.

It's definitely 50% off.....the stores were hoppin' this morning!

I just got home from Target...everything was 50% off. I got lots of Domo stuff...I'm a big fan. I also grabbed some packs of Playdoh...I'm wondering if it will keep for a year or at least a few months until the kids bdays so I can give it out as part favors or something.

the playdough keep for quite a while. I have some from last Halloween that is still good (the ones that were unopened), maybe a tad drier but still very usable.

Oh good...I figured I prefer to give the little kiddies something useable than junk food. My DS got playdoh in his trick or treat bag and was so excited he could careless about the rest of his loot.

If you save it for next halloween, I recommend leaving it in the sealed bag it came in, I think it lasts longer that way.

Oh awesome...I'll keep them sealed. Thank you for the tip! I'll use the other bag as party favors and stocking stuffers.

On Halloween day, ours had 50% off clearance @ the Dollar Spot off everything with a green dot. This was most of their Fall/Halloween stuff and they had tons left. They're really trying to make room for their Christmas stuff!

Yup, keep them tightly sealed in a bag. My daughter got some hand-me-down Playdoh from her cousins who had them sitting in their basement for almost 7 years...still fresh!

Wow, at least a couple of the Target stores in the DC area cleared out the Monday BEFORE Halloween and have already moved in the Christmas things!

Boy, I went to 2 Targets today. The first had nothing and the 2nd had mostly candy and a few other items. It was 30% off at the 2nd store! I did get a bag of mini playdoh that for some reason rang up at 50% off--2.49! I wish I would've grabbed 2 bags. When I went back to that aisle, it was gone already. I had better luck with a few novelties at Walgreens. Next time I will go The morning after Halloween. I suppose it didn't help that Halloween was on a weekend this year and Target is swamped on the weekends.

Went Sat morning. I stocked up on snacks for school for the kids - mini bags of pretzels, fruit snacks and goldfish. Also got Halloween glad locs, napkins and paper towels. Everything was 50% off.

I managed to pick up 2 cute Halloween T's for myself for $2.50 each, but that was it. Mine was pretty picked over on Saturday. I really wanted some outdoor lights, but no such luck. :(

TJ Maxx/Home Goods has some really beautiful stuff though- I think I'll hit them up next.

Was there this morning (monday) - they have a few aisles of halloween stuff -- all 50% off. decorations, costumes, candy, toys, party favors.

My DD and I went early Saturday morning when they opened.

I got:

-2 packs of skeleton paper plates

-2 glow in the dark pillowcases (definitely should have bought more!)

-purple Halloween My Little Pony (should have bought the orange one too
but I didn't, not sure why)

-4 different styles of the Halloween Kelly dolls

-Halloween Fizz 'n Find (should have bought ALL of these, my son loved it)

All at 50% off.

Wow, Corie, cool stuff. I should've gotten those fizz balls. I saw them but didn't know if they would work well.

Mine was pretty picked over today. Still managed to get Ts and pants for both DDs for next year, but that was it. I faired much better at Walmart this morning as I got a great deal on several bags of playdough.

Has anyone seen (at Target or elsewhere) - I'm not sure exactly what to call them- but it's a ball covered in lights. You can hang them in a window, or off the front porch. The ones I have are orange.

I had 2, one broke completely, and the other is only lighting up 1/2 way. DS loooves them, and I would really like to replace them, but I can't find them anywhere. I remember buying them at Target, but it was many years ago.

ETA: It's like this http://www.target.com/Hanging-Starlight-Sphere/dp/B000RKVY4E/sr=1-10/qid=1225808146/ref=sr_1_10/192-9055354-4653532?ie=UTF8&rh=k%3Alight%20spheres&page=1 but orange. I do NOT want to pay $25 for it though!

Thanks, I just got back with a lot of stuff, I might head back in 2 or 3 days to see if I can catch the 90% off.

My Target had NOTHING. I asked and they said they were cleaned out of costumes and nothing would be going on sale (costume wise). Not sure about other items though since I didn't really look.

FYI for those looking for mini-playdohs, yesterday I found some 66 pk of playdoh for only $4.81 in the clearance section. I got two of them. I have a friend who is a playdoh freak (it is in EVERY goodie bag she puts together and she does a lot of goodie bags) and I told her about it and she got really excited. I thought it was a good price and she told me that it was smart to stock up, b/c they will last for a long time.

Lori, I know what you're talking about. During one of my diaper runs to Walgreens, I saw a string of 4-5 small pumpkin lights that are what you describe. They were all different colors and 9.99-75%. It'll be hit or miss though, as I've been to 3 Walgreens and this was the only one that had them. Where do you put them?

Did you find those in the toy section? my bag was about half that size, but in the halloween section.

ETA: this target was still at 50% off (although the signs still said 30%). BTW, Corie, I found 2 glow in the dark pillow cases (2.50 ea)--I think DS will like these when he gets older. Do they "glow" well? Also, one fizz ball, and a felt trick or treat bag with lights. I wanted to check the clothing section for pj's but had to run.

Our Target was still 50% and was pretty picked over. However, they had tons of pet costumes. Really? Pet costumes?

Yes, they are amazing!! If I would have known, I would have
bought every single one of them. :)

I put the pillow on top of their bed and leave their bedroom lights
on for about 30 minutes before bed. This charges it up.

The pillowcases are very cool. I would like one for me! :)

75% off today. They still had a lot of stuff left including candy. I ended up buying some of the things I bought at 50% off for 75% off so I'll have a bunch of returns to do.
