I can't believe I just did this. I just opened up an e-mail from "Toyota", with logos and all, that said as a current owner they thought I'd be interested in receiving future offers, etc. If I didn't want to be on the list I could just click on the link to send a blank e-mail and I would be removed from the list. I'm tired, so I quickly clicked on the link which opened up a new e-mail and I sent it. Right after I clicked it I thought to myself, wait a second, looked up at the address and sure enough, the e-mail address I sent it to is some random string of letters and numbers. I'm usually so careful about these things. So what can I expect now? Should I be worried or am I just going to be receiving a bunch of junk mail now? The e-mail I sent was blank.

I can't help much, but I would forward it to Toyota so they can have their Corporate IT Office look at it and hopefully stop it from happening to others. This happened to my Mom with a Bank of America Email recently, though in her case they were looking for her to give up passwords and account numbers. Fortunatley for her she didn't do as it asked but waited for me to look at it. I just forwarded it to BOA and they are working on it.
Good Luck!
