I did a search but really didn't come up with much.

My father in law is building a dollhouse for my 2.5 y/o for Christmas. I told him to scale it to the Ryan's Room furniture since that is the furniture i suggested everyone else buy her for Christmas.

Which people would be best? I see some are plastic and have doll hair, some are cloth and stuffed and have yarn hair, etc.

Any favorites?

Plan Toys has wooden people, and as a bonus, they have them in many different shades/ethnicities. Here a set similar to the ones we have. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001VVB9C/ref=s9sdps_c1_21_at2-rfc_p-frt_p-3237_g1_si4?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=1D324FRQYGZAJY6P9VH3&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=461886001&pf_rd_i=507846

I'm in love with Kathe Kruse dollhouse dolls:

Kathe Kruse even come in "fairy" or "elf" dollhouse dolls (scroll down):

They're definitely not cheap but they are really beautiful!

I love the Kathe Kruse ones (I've seen them locally in person). We have Plan ones. THe only thing is any of the bendy type people can be hard for *some* kids to stand up because balancing them is a little tricky.

I didn't go this route but I sometimes wonder if it would be easier to go for wooden people that are a solid piece of wood...ala Holztiger, Kinderkram, or Ostheimer? I think they might be easier for little hands to manage, but then you can't bend them to sit....

My dad wants to build DD a dollhouse too (not for Christmas, but in the future). He's looking forward to it! What a great FIL you have :)

I think all of these come in different ethnicities.

I did a post maybe 2 years ago listing about 20 different types of dollhouse dolls, but I couldn't find it. Oh well, it must have been purged.

My one word of advice would be to buy an inexpensive set of dolls at first. I was really close to buying the Kathe Kruse dolls and I am so glad that I didn't because my dd has never ended up playing with her dollhouse. I think I ended up buying the Ryan's Room dolls.

We have the Plan Toys family ones. They are great in the Ryan's Room dollhouse he has.
