View Full Version : Where to look for a decent TV stand for a flat screen TV that will be wall mounted?
DH and I are looking into getting a flat screen TV. Yes, we still have a TV from about 1990, so it's really time. Meanwhile we need some type of stand for our DVD player, tuner, DVD's, VCR (yup, we still have one and have about 75 tapes). Where is the best place to look for something that will hold everything except the wall mounted TV?

What are you looking to spend?
I'm going to say the usual suspects - Crate and Barell, Pottery Barn, IKEA. We actually bought a unit similar to what you seem to be looking for at JC Penney.
I have no idea of a budget b/c I have no idea what a small low unit would cost. We don't want to spend much, but we want it to be better than the Target unit we currently have for our older TV.

We just bought this a few weeks ago from a local furniture store

It's nicely made, fully assembled and was about $650. We love the drawers, etc. We have a wall mounted 50" Plasma above it.
Being that we have plaster walls and we're constantly changing our components, etc we didn't want to totally hide the cables, so we used these:

Looks really nice, considering the wires aren't behind the wall.
Have fun shopping!

Since the tv will be mounted that is very easy...they have them EVERYWHERE.
Just wanna say you should invest in a wall mount that allows you to pull the tv about a foot away from the wall, tilt it and swivel it in both directions. :)
