Need help in finding a comfortable and nice looking boot

I live in NYC and do not have a car. So, I walk everywhere. I am looking for a comfortable and stylish boot with flat or low heel(not more than 1.5 inches). I hope to find tall one which looks good both with skirt and pant. Anyone has one you love and where you got it? TIA!

I have been loving shoes and boots from Sofft lately. They are comfortable like Clarks and Born, but it is easier to find a pair that is more stylish. The only difference for me is that I actually need a low to mid heel for comfort, so I've mostly bought those styles and can't attest as well to their flat styles. They sell them IRL at Dillards (most styles available) and a more limited selection at Nordies. The website is www.sofftshoes.com.
