Non-Made in China Thomas the Train

I really wish there was non-made in China Thomas the Train. Anyone know of any? Maybe in Europe?

Not that I am aware of, if you want Thomas characters.

If you are open to non-Thomas stuff there is:

Whittle Shortline Railroad (a bit spendy)

and Maple Landmark (they have 3 scales of trains...one is the same scale as Thomas/Brio, the others are not). Maplelandmark is surprisingly affordable IIRC (for not MIC)

I'm not aware of any non-MIC Thomas sets though, unfortunately.

It is expensive but the kids love them and I feel secure knowing that they are made in the USA. I bought the little engine that could set for DS last Christmas and he prefers it to his Thomas.
