I should have known the quiet was too good to be true. Both kids were playing in the family room and I was getting a lot done in the kitchen. They were playing happily together, which is rare. But alas, the reason? They were busy drawing roads all over the concrete fireplace ledge to drive the cars on. My son was SO proud of his beautiful roads.

So, any suggestions on how to remove unwashable black crayon from untreated concrete slab? It is the ledge of untreated concrete that sits in front of our fireplace, if you know what I'm talking about. my dad suggested sand blasting. Sounds messy and I'd rather not think about it. My mom suggested goo-gone but that is oil based and the concrete will absorb it. I've tried scrubbing it with a sponge and I've tried magic eraser. Neither have touched it.

Anyone BTDT?

The crayola website has good instructions from removing their products from a wide variety of surfaces -- good even if the crayons weren't crayola.
