Can you use American Express Points to upgrade flight?

I dont' have time to call right now, and was hoping someone would know.

If you buy a flight through American Express travel, can you use your AMEX reward points to upgrade the flight from economy to business class?

Yoiu'll have to check the fine print, but probably not. It depends in part on the fare class of the original ticket. Some fare categories are not able to be upgraded.

I have....I transfer my Membership rewards points to whatever airlines' FF program, then do the upgrade from there.

Obviously, some tickets aren't upgradable, so check w/ your airline first before transferring miles.
