Today I noticed that DD's nipples are very hard and swollen. The only way I know how to describe it is that it feels like a marble under there. It's that way on both sides.
I know that it sometimes happens to very young babies, but is it normal for a 5 1/2 month old? This is new today...last night when I gave her a bath it wasn't like that.
I am breastfeeding- but not very much as I have a low supply (mostly for bonding and the benefits she gets from even a little of my milk). I nurse her about 3 times during the day/night and at each of these she gets about an ounce (I've weighed her multiple times before and after feedings to check).
Anyone have experience with this?
