Looking for one for my son, looking for something geared towards kids and that is not too pricey. I think this is going to be his last Christmas present. (Right now he is getting legos, a number of books, a Wall*E DVD and PJs). Gosh this list has changed a lot on the last couple of months. TIA for any ideas.

Hi Katie~
i'm not sure if you are still looking for a kid telescope, but i saw this in last weekend's Lakeshore Learning sales flyer and thought of your post.

edited to fix link. for some reason i can't get it to work. but here is the main lakeshore page. write "telescope" in the search box. sorry!

I don't know if it was inexpensive, but I did see one at Costco in the seasonal toy section today.

Thanks for the ideas and links. I looked at a few used ones but found them to be in poor shape for the $$ and so we ordered one from Amazon that was marked down to $30. T's going to be OFF the moon with happiness.

The Lakeshore Learning one looks really nice, I think I will have to remember that.
