I have a bunch of stuff stashed in a bag, but am not sure how it will be distributed (some for our Advent calendar, some for stocking).

Some of what I have:
Fun Japanese erasers (really cute and detailed food themes, etc., and PVC free)
Christmas pencils
Those pencils that have several different points in different colors...you pull one color out by the point and then can push it down in through the top to switch colors (there are like 7-8 different colors). Clear as mud LOL?)
Silly Putty
Temporary Christmas tattoos-likely will be used in Advent calendar so that the kids can have their tattoos on for the various holiday parades we attend ;)
Christmas stickers (probably for Advent Calendar)
Those foam capsule thingies that you soak in water and an animal shaped sponge comes out...DS loves these in the Advent calendar each year for whatever reason.
Those little towel/washcloth things that are like hard cardboard until you put them in the tub.

Mostly for stocking:
CDs
Balsa wood plane
deflated Gertie ball for DD (2 yo)
Doll diaper for 2 year old's new doll
hairclips and accessories for 2 year old DD
Playmobil guy with charcoal grill for 4.5 year old DS
some new art stuff
Playmobil person with bike and bikestand (I think this will fit in DS's stocking)
toothbrushes for each
DS requested "mints with a sliding door" last year and has requested them again this year.
Usually a book for each
Ornament for each

For 5 year old boy:

-Small jar of fancy stuffed green olives (yes, he will eat them/loves them even though mama won't!)
-Some pens and colored pencils
-pear and orange
-$1 stretch gloves that he likes to make puppets out of, several pairs.
-Chocolate truffles
-Candy canes/candy sticks
-paperback book or 3. We have a lot of gently used ones to pick from.
-Koolaid packets to make playdoh with. He has been asking for some koolaid to make play dough with like they have at school for some time.

None of his actual gifts fit in his stocking this year (last year I could stick cars, train cars, and dollhouse accessories in there). He is getting a big hardback book about how things work, a bunch of legos, an inexpensive telescope and a DVD. He will also get baseball shoes under the tree if I can find them. They start playing here at the end of February. So the stocking stuffers are all going to be very low cost things this year, instead of including the larger ($ wise) gift items like they have before.

5 almost 6 y/o that I know:
Chocolate candy
Pencils with name
Kalidescope
Small Lego pack
Bubblebath
Superhero toothbrush
A dollar for piggy bank

Will add a few more thing designed to keep him occupied from 5:30am when he will inevitably wake up until 7:30am which is the earliest I can resonably expect my parents to come over. Maybe a new Leapster game.

17 m/o
3 toothbrushes (he likes to walk around with them then we can't find them to brush his teeth)
Wood cars
Board pop-up book

Not sure on rest yet...

7-yo DD and twin 5-yo DSs are getting:

~ yo-yo
~ knit gloves
~ mini Perler bead kits
~ Lindt chocolate snowman
~ miniature books -- one on horses, one on dinosaurs, one on reptiles, I think
~ Maybe a candy cane, but they will be regular ones, not like the super-sized, all-natural ones from Whole Foods that Santa brought last year that completely bombed with the kids.

DD1 (4 years):
big sister ornament
fairy princess wand & crown from Etsy
twistable colored pencils
glitter glue (I will probably live to regret this one)
...and DH was talking about a Shrek chia pet?!? That will probably be too big for her stocking, though, so if he gets it he can wrap it up for under the tree!

DD2 (5 months):
baby's first christmas ornament
lamaze grip and grab apple rattle
new baby spoons (since we'll be starting solids a few weeks later)
...maybe one other thing if I see something else small that I want to get her.

thought i would post: my mom got my just turned 5yo Dd this knock knock book and she LOVES it. it's pretty simple--a good first knock knock book IMO.
