Missed the Leapster at Target - what's the next best deal?

I would like to get a Leapster or Leapster 2 for my DS and missed out on the Target deal yesterday. Are there any other good deals floating around? I realize they probably won't be as good as the Target one, but just wondering what the next best thing might be. So far, I have seen the Leapster regularly price at Target for 49.99, and I think Costco has a Leapster 2 and case for maybe 70? Any other places I should look?

they were $38 recently. and, it won't be long until all of those original model leapsters are sold out completely and the only options will be the Leapster2. I'd just keep googling leapster and see if you come up with any random online places selling them for cheap. I doubt it will get as good as $28, though!

I would stay away from used - my daughter's leapster isn't very old, but it has 'funky' days where it won't play certain games, etc....I'd be wary of a used one.

Thanks all! I actually did just that - froogled "Leapster" and it looks like leapfrog.com might be the best option - if I could find a coupon! I'm thinking I missed the site-wide 25% and free shipping. I did sign up for their emails so maybe I'll get something good to use. I'm also going to put it on pricewatch for amazon. If anyone knows of any current leapfrog coupon codes I'd love to have them!

don't feel badly about missing the leapfrog.com deal because it excluded leapsters! in the end, whatever you wind up paying will be worth it because all kids love them - my 5yo can sit for an hour playing hers and she doesn't sit still for much!

I would check ebay. With the 30% live.com cashback option, you can get a pretty good deal!

Check Costco. They had a package earlier this year, and may have dropped their prices.

Also, we're just into the Holiday Shopping Season, don't give up!

bjs and cosco have bundles with a case, a game (blue has wall-e and pink has pet pals) for $79.99

i did SEE at wmart but it wasnt a deal a pink princess edition leapster2.

I decided to get the Leapster 2 since the regular Leapster is being discontinued and picked up the set at Costco today for $69.99. I figured that made the included case ($14.99) and the Wall-E game ($24.99) free.

I also saw that Toys R Us online is offering $20 off of a $75 Leapfrog purchase now. I will have to check our Costco too. For those that have the Leapster 2, do your kids use the extra features?
