DS's school is doing a socks/shoe drive for a local organization. I want to contribute as much as I can, but I'm not sure where I should go looking for the best deals on kids' shoes.

The school didn't specify any sizes or styles- just "kids' shoes and socks". I don't think Target has very good deals on shoes.

Any other thoughts/suggestions? Seen any really good shoe sales recently?

ETA: They are asking for new shoes, so gently used is out, too.

do you have a marshalls with a "mega shoe" section near you? you can get stride rites for $15 or so, even less if out of season. Mine sometimes has limited Primigi and umi shoes for cheap. They get carter's shoes, osh kosh, etc and all are priced less than even payless.

Also, in NJ (not sure where you are), they get geox and stride rite at Ross dress for less for $12 per pair. HTH

Do you have a Nordstrom rack near you? Their shoes are good prices and nice.
