I'd been waffling on this b/c I had always thought I'd just get the IKEA one locally, but now it's actually cheaper than the IKEA easel with tax, and it looks nicer. Yea!

How old is too old for for the M&D Easel? Do you think an almost 4 and almost 5 year old would be too old for an easel? Does that age group do more floor work/desk work drawing, versus easel drawing?

OK I was annoyed I was out $5 but now it's like $9....so annoying (and that's a ton of accessories I could have bought - paint, brushes etc etc.)

That's what I get for being organized!

I tried to order 3 of these (we have to buy 3 of everything around here) and the limit was one. I was able to put through duplicate orders, but I'm afraid they'll get cancelled.
I considered getting my sister to order one and maybe my BIL, but was hoping to save them the trouble.
What do you think?

I'm an annoyed too- $5 here. I think mine's supposed to come today, but I'm nervous about refusing shipment on it. I think I'll just eat it.

What age is a good age to start using an easel. DS is almost 18 months old. Wondering if I should get this at this price, or is it too early for him?

I bought one for DS about a year ago when it was on sale for about $26 and only just gave it to him recently (he's 3.5). Well, my 18 m/o DD LOVES it! I haven't let her paint, but she really enjoys using the chalkboard side with large pieces of sidewalk chalk. She can't reach higher than maybe a third of the way up the chalkboard, but it doesn't seem to bother her.

It does fold up, so if you decided he wasn't ready for it, and you have a closet or a garage or a basement in which to stash it, you could always get it out for him again later.

Can someone recommend a paint set for it - I hear the Melissa and Doug paint is Alex - which really isn't a washable paint. I would like the non-spill paint etc.

We have some crayola paint that is very washable.
