what is the gist of candlyland castle? shapes go in the castle and then come out when you press a button? child places the piece on the appropriate shape/color on game card?

my 18 month old loves to do puzzles and i wonder if this would be a more fun way to do a puzzle. push a piece out and put it on the coordinating shape on a game card. it would not follow the rules but who cares.

anyone use this with a younger child, say 18 months or so? thanks.

my daughter was 20 months when she received it. She pretty much played by the rules then, she would pull the lever and get the shape and put it on her board. It's a little like bingo. She also learned about taking turns with it. She sometimes would take the piece if she didn't have it on her board and offer it to us.

I don't think 18 months is necessarily too young, but it depends on the child and their level of frustration etc. It's definitely something they can grow into if they don't like it at first.
