I was surprised by the Alex brand crayons on there. For some reason I thought their toys were of slightly better quality.

I think Alex is a cheaper version of M&D. I too would have thought they would have been better quality. No toys for children anywhere should be so scary!

Haba Ball Track?
Must be the actual balls?

Ugh, we have the ALEX finger crayons (kids can hold the ball part of it, or put their finger inside of it) and now I am wondering if those have a mercury issue too...

A lot of the Alex stuff is on that list (click more). I have never been happy with the quality of their stuff either.

They don't - http://www.healthytoys.org/product.details.php?getrecno=7306 but I noticed some of their other art supplies do. Scary.

I'd suggest that if anyone has Alex brand crayons (including the twist up ones) or chalk to throw away the purple ones. At www.healthytoys.org I noticed that the purple rated very high in mercury. The finger crayons were fine, though.
