Does such a thing exist? The girls & I have such sensitive skin that we almost need band-aids after the band-aids, KWIM?? I took a band-aid off last night & tonight I still have a bright red mark from where it was. It's like this almost anywhere on my body except my fingers. The girls both have similar reactions. I mean, I'm not sure it's an allergic reaction because it doesn't hurt or itch or anything but it's something right? I have tried fabric band-aids & plastic ones. Any ideas???

I like NexCare clear bandages. I can even use them on my stomach without problems. Cause you're right, it suck when the skin around the cut ends up in worse shape than the cut.

ETA Here is what I'm talking about. (http://www.shop3m.com/nexcare-waterproof-clear-protection-bandages.html)

Liquid bandage?

I'll bet your issue is the adhesive... if my boys have one on their skin too long they get a little red/irritated as well.

Some people do have Latex allergies though! Have you tried these? maybe latex free would help?

I've only had this problem with waterproof bandaids and if I leave them on for more than a day. When these 2 are mixed, we actually had an experience this summer where I tore the top layer of DS's skin off his forehead and he had a square scab on his forehead! I posted about it and many people said it may either be latex or adhesive. I found some cammo "fabric" bandaids at target that are pretty gentle.

Has anyone ever used Liquid Bandages?? I'm just wondering if the stuff actually works.

I may have to try the Nexcare ones & also check out Target. I may just have to buy a few brands & test them out to see what works best. So thanks for the suggestions ladies. :)

Total tangent but when I was looking at one of the links I came across Nexcare's "Duct Tape" bandages. Too funny. I wonder if Susan's (ChunkyNicksChunkyMom) husband knows about those! ;)

I was less than impressed by the stuff but I can't remember why exactly.

YEs, but only on myself. I use it when I get cracks in my fingers and it keeps them covered enough for them to heal with all the dishwashing, handwashing, etc.

Also make sure to use care when removing the bandaid - use some baby oil or dish soap to loosen the adhesive before you rip it off...

My husband used some when he ripped the skin on his toe... can't remember how he did it?? He used the liquid bandage and said it really worked and felt better.... he was having issues with the regular bandaid sticking to his sock and then coming loose and driving him nuts!

My husband swears by New Skin. I am not sure at what age it can safely be used on children. My husband uses New Skin because he is allergic to the adhesive on band aids. I would also try the non latex band aids.
