I want to hang our DD's quilt on the wall, but i'm having a hard time finding a place that sells a shelf with a small rod???...i saw this shelf in an old PBK ad, but can't find it now that i need one. Any ideas on where i can find this? or how i should display her quilt?

I used a stick of bamboo from my backyard, stitched (by hand) a couple of loops across the back (hidden) and hung the whole thing up with a OOK hanger from BBB, far enough away from the crib standing, grabbing DD couldn't get it. It was about $1 for the whole thing.

Michael's or AC Moore carry hangers too. They're not the rod type, but they are more like a block with a slit and a bearing or something inside that keeps the quilt/blanket in place.

We bought a pair of those, painted them and then glued on safari wood/felt animals from the same store to match his room. I didn't have any luck finding the rod-type display at the time.

Found this while looking for something else on AC Moore's site:

I was able to order just what you're looking for (shelf with rod) from a local store that sells both unfinished and finished pieces (everything from shelves to desks to chairs and tables...). They had a catalog from some area woodworkers, and we were able to order mine from an Amish woodcarver in the area. It took a month & a half, but I got exactly what I wanted that way.

Try their links to 'Favorite Places' to look around, too: http://www.woodcraftunfinishedfurniture.com/resources/links.htm

I tried a bunch of national chains before I thought to try the local place-- should have gone there first.
