We are traveling with our DS of 8m in Jan for a week vacation to Houston. We stay with a relative around 20m from Houston airport.
Any idea of what are good destinations for my family?

Oo, we were just there for Christmas break. We didn't really stray past the relatives' house so I can't be helpful in first hand experience, but I would defiantely recommend checking out tripadvisor.com:

If you do zoos, the zoo there is very nice. There's a nice children's museum. Space Center Houston (at Nasa, in Clear Lake) is a tourist destination. The Museum of Natural History.

I miss Houston! I loved living there, there was always something to do. The Children's Museum is great. The Science Museum and Museum of Natural History are excellent. Yes, Nasa in Clear Lake is very cool. Also around Clear lake there is a board walk where you can watch the ships heading down the channel and out to see. There are some restaurants there and it's very pretty. The Galleria mall has a skating rink inside and tons and tons of great shopping.

The restaurants in Houston bear mentioning because there are so many good ones. Any of the Pappas restaurants are casual but way yummy ( Pappasitos, Pappadeaux's, Pappas Steak House is more formal, Pappas seafood). The la Madeleine restaurants are very good and very casual.

Those are off the top of my head. Oh, I see another pp mentioned some. Have a great time!
