How to best clean the fabric on an older P3?

I have a 2004 P3 (the blue and white checkered pattern. I really need to wash the fabric. What is the best way to do that? Can it be removed from the frame and put back on easily? Also, what is the best way to clean the canopy? This stroller lives in my trunk, but I am sick of seeing how dirty it really is after 2 kids.

Take the fabric off and either wash in a pillow case on gentle cycle or hand wash in the tub. Hang to dry, DO NOT put it in the dryer!

For the canopy, it does not come off the frame. Take it off, put the hinges to open, and take it into the tub. Gently scrub it and rinse it. Leave it open to dry. If the frame is bent a patient spirit, hair dryer, and gentle manipulation once it is warm.
