Baby Jogger City Mini foot muff-bunting-mneed suggestions

I have the BJCM and am wondering what to get for the winter months. I see that BJCM makes their own foot muff:

My neighborhood baby store Schneiders reccoemded this one:

I bought it and returned it as I was concerned about how bulky it is and that it moved around. Maybe those aren't real issues of concern though....

I spoke with their customer service as I was concerned that the foot muff woudl slide around the top as their is not way to attach it to the top part of the stroller (not a problem when reclined-but an issue when the stroller is upright)

I have the bundle me-but it seems too skimpy in there to provide much padding for my 4 month old.

The other issue is that the more bulky-sleepig bag things seem like a pain when the strolelr is folded in half as they are so bulky.

I live in NYC so we still have more winter ahead.

My last concern is getting a liner that is warm-but not so hot that my son will get overheated if he is on the foot muff-liner while snoozing indoors.

Any suggestions?

Not sure how it would work with the City Mini, but the Company Store footmuff/stroller sack was on clearance recently. I have owned it and it is well worth the $. Top zips off, wind/rain resistant, washes great, heavy enough but can add blankets if arctic (footmuff catches them so they don't get lost ;)).

I wouldn't get the baby store one you had listed, it unzips in the front, but the top part does not come off. Not worth it in my book.

Just told the other poster that Shnoop.com has Valco footmuffs, PLUS a matching diaper bag, for $10! Might as well try it out. I've been getting into footmuffs a lot lately. I particularly like the one on my Quinny Buzz. It is really soft and squishy, and folds with the stroller. (Actually the one that came on my Mac Quest folds with the stroller, too.)

One thing you'll want to keep in mind with the Baby Joggers and footmuffs is that the fold mechanism is in the seat. I had bought a Company Store one and had to return it because it covered the folding mechanism. This was for my Baby Jogger City Series, but the same would probably apply for the Mini.

I ended up with a Cozy Rosie for ours.

The Company Store one is bulky and small -- my son outgrew it at around a year old. It was nice while I used it, though it made folding my stroller (Inglesina Trip) a challenge.

I use a Brooks Pond with my BJCM. I love that one -- it's huge, the top zips off, and it has a plastic/rubber part on the bottom for dirty boots. You can fold that part over to keep their feet contained, or you can unfold it to let their feet dangle out of the blanket.

It's not perfectly compatible with the BJCM but it's not bad. It blocks the folding mechanism but it's easy to reach behind the blanket to access the folding strap. When I used it last winter, I had to readjust the Brooks Pond every couple of weeks because it would start to sink down. There's not a perfect way to keep the top part at the top of the stroller.

(It is completely incompatible with the BOB Revolution; just an FYI!)

IS theHow do you feel about the weight?
Is it listed as medium weight fleece- which I am concerned would not be very warm unless using hte plastic rain cover.
As the BJCM handle bar is curved, how does the CR attach over the bar?
Do you really leve the CR on when folding?

Also- on their website- it does not mentioned BJCM is one of the strollers it is compatible with.

If you were in a restaurant could you leave it on when it is folded? Or was it wasy too bulky?

I have the Classic. My main reason for getting it was that I found someone selling a new one for around $20. :)

I could leave it on the BJCM when folded, no problem. I'm not sure about the Baby Jogger footmuff, but it looks awful short. They were OOS everywhere when I was looking for one, so I never got one. I haven't seen it in person. I had thought about a Cozy Rosie, but then I found that awesome deal on the Brooks Pond.

I can tell you about the Cozy Rosie, I have that one too. ;) It is fleece. It is not super light, however it is not a thick polar fleece either. The wind goes right through it on a breezy day. It is also not resistant to rain/snow. It is very long, so a larger child can use it. When my dc2 was born, my tall dc1 was able to use it (I actually had one for each child for awhile). It is more of a boot than a true footmuff as the back does not cover the whole seat and then have a zip off top. I found I often used it with additional blankets on cold and breezy days. THe sides have velcro loops that allow you to attach it to the stroller frame. You can leave it on when folding as it is not bulky. I used it on many different strollers, it was very versatile, working with joggers, prams, and all in between. ;)
