Starbucks Corp. said it will give away a free tall brewed coffee Jan. 21-25 to any customer who pledges to donate five hours or more of volunteer community service.
The Seattle coffee giant (NASDAQ: SBUX) is teaming with the nonprofit HandsOn Network of Atlanta, which has 270 local U.S. centers that work20with more than 31,000 nonprofit organizations.
“Five hours is just 25 minutes a month for a year, two afternoons at a food bank creating care packages, a day reading to children at a hospital or in a park planting trees,” said Vivek Varma, senior vice president of global affairs of Starbucks, in a statement.
