Has anyone found a wood xylophone for a 1 yr old? I ordered from LONod, but it is for 3+. I'm assuming he can play with it as long as he's supervised?

TIA

We have one from M&D, but I have no idea what the age range is on it. It came in a set with other instruments. Santa brought it, and it's already chipping pretty badly. DS can't seem to remember to tap it gently.

We have the plan toys melody xylophone (which I think may be the one at the land of nod). Our baby has been playing with his supervised from 10-14 months and now I will leave him unsupervised with it. Our baby, and with more serious damage, our dog, chews the mallet but plan toys was very nice about replacing it. The xylophone came with some music sheets which I put away for when he is older. I really like this one as opposed to the one with the wood keys because it sounds like a xylophone and grows with the child.

we actually found a bamboo one for ds when he was one- we still have it, we bought it at an antique/junk shop for about 10 dollars 4 years ago-

I've tried out the one from plan Toys and the sound is so-so. I wish there were more bars to hit.

Here's another wood one.

I might buy this one from edushape. It's a bit less offensive than some other plastic ones.

I think it's a personal decision whether or not you're comfortable with a toy rated for 3+. I already feel like my 10 month old gets to things just when I blink so, for me, I have more peace of mind giving him a toy that's not listed as a choking hazard.
