They were expecting seven, with one surprise! All are doing well...mom plans to breastfeed!!! (I admire her determination and hope she has remarkable luck!)

That's amazing! Don't have time to read right now as I'm trying to clean the house a little bit this am before I take DD to dance class. Just stopped to check in and couldn't resist posting the pic of the doctor from that article. I think the look on his face says it all :hysterical:

When you already have 7 at once it seems like 8 would not be too hard to take. :) Just one more carseat to buy!

I wish her loads of luck on bf'ing. That is going to take some real time and determination. I hope she is able to have success- and then share her tips!

WOW! That is the hospital that is associated with my Kaiser clinic so that's where I'll be delivering my baby! It hit so close to home. So far the OB staff at this clinic is great! I can't believe I didn't hear this on the news last night either!

I wonder if my mommy group should start a clothing or diaper drive for them. Off to go post this link on our group page!

Well, she doesn't need a diaper drive! The news reported she's getting free diapers for life. So that is great! Maybe a diaper wipe drive!

I think this is a miracle, truely. I'm so happy for this mama to have been able to carry all her babies and for them to have survived.

Listening to this story, I have not heard anything mentioned about the dad at all, has anyone else, kind of makes me wonder, I hope for her sake, it wasn't a single woman, with fertility drugs that worked too well, I would be so scared to be single, having eight babies!

Just curious - where did you see that she plans to BF? I didn't read that in the article you linked to. That would be an amazing feat!

im not suprised at 8 instead of 7. when i was pregnant with twins it was hard enough figuring out whos arm or leg was whos. with 7-8 pretty impossible. its not like the DR can hold those babies still lol!

as far as the breastfeeding 8 goes i know it wont be "exclusive". no way in hell ANYONE could physically or emotionally do it. come on now let get real! i think shes to be commended no matter how those 8 are feed. no way i could raise multipuls of such a high nummber, i have twins and thats enough for me! iykwim!!!

Yep, I honestly think it is remarkable that they could get any useful info from a ultrasound with that many kiddos! It looked totally chaotic with my twins too....

Somewhere I read that the doctors wouldn't say if she had been taking fertility drugs. My take is...well...isn't the answer to that question pretty obvious?

I respect the drs. decision not to make that known although I do believe that is most likely the cause. I'll be watching this story a lot because like I said yesterday this is the hospital I'll most likely be delivering at and could have anyone of those OBs deliver my daughter. To me that is piece of mind.
