You know the feeling - razor blades in the throat that keep you awake from 2:00 a.m. onward?! Tea, honey, gargling with saltwater...any other ideas?

Thank you!

I usually take some Advil - it helps bring the pain down to a manageable level. :)
Feel better!!!

YUP! Usually just a dose of Tylenol or Motrin to bring the discomfort level down.... won't take it away completely but it'll help. Lots of fluids. Ahhh I hate the razor blades in the throat thing... sucks! Luckily it doesn't last too long. Hope you all feel better soon.

Thanks to both of you! I've gargled, had lots of tea and now I'll attempt to swallow something to eat so I can take ibuprofin.

You ladies (and the few of you gentlemen) always have the answers!

DS has been sick and we put the vaporizer in his room and it seemed to help with his throat. You could use a humidifier instead if you don't want the hot steam in the kid's room.

eta: and we've been giving DS flavored honey as "medicine" every couple of hours.
