DDs love to draw more than anything. For their shared bedroom, I wanted to get two wall easels for drawing (I don't want them to paint in their carpeted bedrooms). We already have the M&D easel for messy art downstairs.

My options (keep in mind, I am buying two)--

Alex Toys Wall Easel (can buy this for probably about $52 each online. I couldn't get this item at the super cheap clearance price at HomeGoods b/c my local HomeGoods stores didn't carry it) Pros-not huge. Cons-just chalkboard, no dry erase, not magnetic, not cheap.

or

Easel Banner (with coupon code, about $23.38 shipped for two) Pros-cheap. Cons-no paper roll, no tray, no chalkboard or magnetic dry erase board.

or

Wall Easel (with coupon code, $138.01 shipped for two) Pros-magnetic dry erase, paper roll, tray. Cons-not cheap, large.

What about a magnetic dry erase board and a rod over top (curtain rod or dowl or something like this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90011396 from ikea) for the paper roll? You could use a shelf underneath to store chalk, crayons, etc or another ikea rail with hanging containers like http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00115732 or http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50115739 .

What a great idea! I think I will look into that! That might be more economical. I'm not the handiest or craftiest of moms, but maybe I could put something together like that. Thanks for the idea!

Don't you think the paper roll will be too thick for the rod? I'm thinking a paper roll won't fit. Any ideas for something that could probably hold the IKEA paper roll thickness?

I didn't know this one existed until I saw it listed on Craig's List. It is discontinued and no longer being stocked at Land of Nod. Online is out. The reviews are good, and it looks cool b/c of the galvanized steel. Neat! Minimal stock at Land of Nod (maybe one here or there), but will probably be at the Land of Nod outlet at some point.
