Anyone heard of this? What caught my eye, is that vitamins and iron supplements are given to many babies, not just those in the NICU. Makes me reconsider giving the polyvisol and just rely on good old BM. I do feel like DD needs Vit D though.

I had not heard of this but I am not surprised. It really pisses me off. DD was a 32 week preemie and she is quite healthy but I worked so hard to ensure that she was as healthy as possible. BM pumped (since she wasn't an effective suckler) 9 times a day (around the clock), never took her out in the winter to avoid colds, etcetera. Avoided overstimulation...I worked so hard at caring for her above and beyond what ordinary infant care entails and to think that she may have been given supplements with toxins is appalling to me.
