Any suggestions on bra brands? or specific models that work well for big (huge) nursing breasts? According to what I've read online / my measurements I'm a 38H or J.

Stores to shop online would be appreciated as well. There is nowhere in my metro area to try on.

Thanks.

I was a 32E/F at peak BF and I had success with Anita brand. I bought all my nursing bras from http://www.birthandbaby.com/. They have a great online fit calculator and a good description of their products (which bras work/fit best for which breasts). Plus $1 shipping and easy return process made it an easy decision for me to buy from them because I didn't have to worry about returning a bunch of wrong sizes.

i wore a 36H and the ONLY bras that worked for me were the bravado nursing bras. i tried the anita bras (based on the recommendations of many people here) but they didn't offer as much support -- especially after a few wears as the fabric would stretch/loosen due the weight of my breasts. so while the band nad the straps were fine, my breasts would pull the fabric and hang down over the band. large breasts (in cup size rather than in band size) need a thick, strong, heavy material to hold up against the weight of the breasts. anything with lycra will not work. i went to a store at a local hospital where lactaion consultants helped me with sizing and selection. i went several times with both my first and my second dd and everytime (and every lactaion consultant) agreed that for my size, the bravado is my best choice. i loved them. supportaive, comfortable and durable. these are the ones that i used:

for a sleep bra, the Bravado Original Nursing Bra (http://www.bravadodesigns.com/page.asp?ID=670&area=US).

for a day bra, the Bravado Supreme Nursing Bra. (http://www.bravadodesigns.com/product.asp?ID=4&area=US)

you can try ordering from breakoutbras.com. they take returns and offer a discount to return customers.

You might want to check out breakoutbras.com. They have great measuring guides, a wide variety of styles/sizes with notes from the owner about what will work best for different sized women, and they have free shipping. Here's a 10% off coupon, too: bb779877

I just ordered from them and got the Bravado Nursing Bra in an E cup and it is so comfortable. I'm using it in the last trimester and will most assuredly need a bigger one after delivery, but I'll be reordering from breakoutbras.com.

I am a fan of breakoutbras.com as well! I didn't like Bravados very much, but I am very happy with the Medela Seamless Underwires I bought from them (http://breakoutbras.stores.yahoo.net/meseunnubra3.html) and the Anita that I am currently wearing (http://breakoutbras.stores.yahoo.net/sestlaunnubr.html).

Another vote for the Bravado Nursing Bras- I think mine were the Supreme?? ( I wore a 42DD after daughters birth)

Very comfortable and long lasting!

I was an F while nursing and loved the anita underwire bras. My first time around I wore soft cup anitas and they were nice, but once I tried the underwire, wow what a difference! I never had any issues with the wires and it really does make a world of difference in the support and look under clothes.

wearing underwire bras while nursing is strongly discouraged. some people don't have problems but others do. so unless you have tried it before w/o problems, i would wait a while before trying (not during the early days when breastfeeding is hard enough w/o any complications and you are often engorged).

i tried an anita underwire nursing bra and was fortunate to not have any complications. although i didn't wear it often because it didn't provide as much support as the bravado supreme (no underwire). i could see and feel the difference.

I found that the Anita bras only went up to an H cup, so if you need an I, like I did, then I found the Fancee Free bras worked best for me.

I ordered the bras from www.laurensilva.com. Both the soft cup and the foam insert are good - the latter gives more lift but the former is more lightweight. I have one of each.

Hope this helps
