Are TrippTrapps compatible with counter height tables?

No, the Kinderzeat will only work with a regular-height table (NOT counter height). We have one that we love with our table.

For our counter-height island, we used a cheap booster seat that straps to the seat of our barstool. One time my son kicked against the island and pushed his barstool backwards. I managed to catch him but it scared me so much that I didn't let him sit at the island until he was older. With a counter-height table, though (and no place to push off their feet if placed away from the table legs), the strap-on booster seat might work for you.
