Is Maclaren the only option out there rated to 55 lbs? DS is 3 and HUGE. I am looking for a super lightweight stroller for travel. Is Volo (or another Mac- but I'd rather spend around $100 since this is stroller #7!) my only option? I've looked up other strollers mentioned and am shocked at how many are only rated to 35 lbs which wouldn't have even taken DS to age 2.

I absolutely love my Baby Planet Solo Sport and it goes up to 55lbs.
I got it through happymothers.com who did a price match based on BRU's price. I paid $100 for it with no tax and free shipping.

Yeah, pretty much. Pegs generally don't have a weight limit -- the Europeans figure if your child still fits in the stroller, they can safely ride in it. But, Peg d/n make anything as lightweight or compact as the Volo. My nearly 5yo rode in the Volo in Maui recently and really liked it (well, she also liked that it was pink too).

GL!

You could also look at air tire 3-wheelers like the Mountain Buggy. Adults can ride in that!

I am thinking a mountain buggy would be too much for my needs- I really want something light weight. I am intrigued by the Baby Planet which I can get for $99! However, the reviews indicate it is narrower than the volo, so given DS's size, I am thinking I would be safer with a volo.

prior to this DS was in a zippy- 35 lb weight limit, and even at 50 lb the stroller had no problem handling it. I did keep his baby jogger for outdoor use.

My older DS was really heavy and a big guy. We used our Pliko till he was ready to walk all the time. My little guy is now 3.5 and 41lbs and still happily riding in his P3. Is your Zippy not working for you anymore?

the zippy is great but at this stage, probably a little more than we need b/c he walks a lot. I was hoping for something super light for Disney (not really for in the park, more for the boardwalk and evening activity outside the parks) so it's easy in and out of the buses, boats and monorail when not in use.

I recently bought a Maclaren Quest from a seller on ebay for $105. The same seller had Volos for around $75 IIRC. They were NIB, too. PM me if you want me to figure out who it was. Our 4 yo, 46lb, 44 inch ds recently slept for about an hour in our Volo when we were out all day. I think it would be perfect for a child who likes to walk and ride, our son can easily climb in and out on his own.

Tour DS is about the size of my DS, just a few pounds lighter- so that sounds like a great fit for my DS! Thanks for the feedback!
I just took the plunge and ordered a 2007 for $69.99 free shipping! I think the seller does ebay too so we probably got it from the same place!
