DS got this puzzle/game for Christmas. I am waiting for MIL to get back to me to let me know where she got it, but I know I haven't seen it in Target. When I searched it on the TRU website they didn't even have the brand. I'm not very hopeful now!

DS absolutely loves putting the patterns together (with help) and I wanted to get it for a friend's DD for her b-day. Of course I'm waiting until last minute, so it won't get here in time if I order it online.

I called our local educational toy store, but they don't carry it. Why do I think of these things so last minute?!?

I saw these at a kiosk at the mall around Christmas. I've also seen it at our local puzzle store (it's a Mom & Pop type store). It's very a very cool toy.

DS was both fascinated and frustrated by this toy when he tried it out. So my mother bought him this instead: Rainbow Design Blocks (http://www.lakeshorelearning.com/seo/ca%7CproductSubCat~~p%7CDB416~~f%7C/Assortments/Lakeshore/ShopByCategory/blockplaymanipulatives/viewall.jsp) by Lakeshore Learning. He loves these. If you have a Lakeshore Learning store nearby, this might be a good alternative.

Another game in that vein that my kids like is Make 'n Break:

BTW, the puzzle you linked to is actually available on Amazon...do you know anyone who has Amazon Prime...you could have it by Thursday from them:
