Do you think I could make something like this:

For moonsand, beans/rice play, etc.

I think I would start with some sort of rubbermaid container and what for legs? I wonder if they would have anything at a farm implement store or Home Depot?

How about the white PVC pipes? If you take the measurements, the store (at least our Home Depot has for us in the past) will cut it for you. Then all you have to do is buy the connector pieces and push/screw them in. What a great idea to make a sand table for your child!

I have seen these made with a rubbermaid container and PVC pipes. I sent my husband a link a while back.. but can't seem to find the sent message. I'll keep searching for the link--it had great photos and step by step instructions...

In the meantime I did find a few other links for you...

Thank you for the links. I wonder if it's ok to use PVC if it's not something they're touching a lot.

Great links! We have a sand and water area at my moms. We just used sweater boxes (low flat rubbermaids for under the bed, they do have lids) and put them out at ground level. I love the idea of PVC piping to build one, looks reasonably easy!
