(Stuffed, of course!) I'm debating on whether or not to put a bunny in my daughter's first Easter basket or a baby doll.

She already has a Jellycat Bunglie Bunny.

Here are my choices - please help me decide!

Lapinos the Bunny (very pricey, though)

Haba Cuddlekin Bunny

Mini Musical Bunny

or a Tidoo from Corolle so she can take a bath with her baby. :p

What's your vote?

I think that the Jellycat Bunglie Bunny is the cutest.... so if you were planning to get the Corolle at some point, I would get the Tidoo.

I vote for Tidoo (or Calin, which I prefer over Tidoo). Then again, we already have the Bunglie Bunny, Pig, Frog and two Dogs.... LOL. We are completely utterly overrun with stuffed toys of various sorts here. I should open a store!

INO, I would do a babydoll. I would do the little mommy doll dressed in a bunny outfit. She is really cute and I feel that your DD will grow to like it more than a stuffed animal. But, this is based upon my DD4 whom loves all her dolls and rarely looks at any of the stuffed animals.

I saw this bunny on Etsy a few days ago.

I think she is creepy. But oddly enough, I also find her rather cute.

If I was a kid, that would give me nightmares. Heck, I think it is going to give me nightmares now! {{{shudder}}}

Oh my gosh, Corie, that is the ugliest bunny I've ever seen! HA HA! :hysterical: (I agree it's rather cute, sorta like ugly dolls). I'm pretty sure my daughter would still love it as she is not afraid of anything!

Thanks all for the tips! I also found a really cute "bunny" Water Babies Doll. I saw that Little Mommy Bunny at TRU a few weeks ago, so I'll check that one out again. Thanks! :waving4:

Those are so cute....but I am making crocheted bunnies for the girls and THEY DON'T NEED ANY MORE DOLLS. That should be my mantra for 2009....

I am such a sucker for dolls.

I think she is looking at these:

I have to say I highly recommend water babies. The ones my girls play with are at my parents house and they belonged to my 17 year old sister when she was a little girl. They are still in great shape and the girls play with them every time we visit, which I think is pretty impressive. They love taking them in the bath and they feel very life-like. CUTE.

I read the description on Amazon - you fill them with water? Do you keep them filled all the time - do they leak/can a child open the water seal? Can they be used in the tub/pool or are they just called water babies because you fill them with water?

My DDs favorite lovey is a little bunny we bought at Target for about $10. They sell it in the baby clothing section. It's usually hanging on a wall display with other First Years clothing/layette where it is sectioned off by boy, girl, neutral. They sell it year round. We have 3 of them...one lives in DDs crib at home, one lives at daycare, and we have one spare.

Here's (http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Carter's-Just-One-Year-Flower-My-First-Bunny-Rabbit_W0QQitemZ260367238781QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ2 0090224?IMSfp=TL090224123008r24213#ht_500wt_1182) what it looks like.

ETA: Some versions have a rattle in the belly of the bunny. I made sure to by the rattle free version because I didn't want the noise waking DD since she sleeps with her bunny.

You fill them only once. They have a little funnel to help you. I don't think my sister's have ever leaked, and like I said, they've been around for a decade. I don't think the seal could be opened by a kiddo. It's sort of a plug on the back, my girls have never taken much notice of it. My mom would've told me if they had every leaked for my sister. They work great in the tub (this is from my experience, I don't think they are advertised for the tub necessarily).

DD has a water baby. We decided not to fill it with water. The rubber/plastic is soft but stiff enough that you don't need water in it to give the baby shape. The directions say that the inside is antimicrobial but that you should change the water monthly. I didn't want to have to bother with emptying and refilling the baby so we left the water out. DD doesn't notice the difference. The plug in the babies backside where the water goes in seems to be a tight fit so I don't think there'd be a problem with leaking or with a kid taking the plug out. The baby that DD has is all plastic/rubber so it could go in the tub.

Do you have a Costco? Ours has several stuffed animal sets right now (animal + 3 blankets). One is a bunny. I got it for DD. I wish they had had them 2 months ago when I was looking for a stuffed animal for her first birthday. I wanted something machine washable, which this one is. I don't really like what I found then and would have given her this (or one of the other animals) if they had them then.

I chose the bunny because I'm giving it to her for Easter and because she already has several small stuffed bunnies. It sort of ended up a theme for her. But the other animals are really cute, too. The dog looks very similar to DS's dog, which he loves and which has been through a lot and held up well.

I don't have a link because they are not available online.
