My dad says he will build me something for dress up storage. I was thinking of something like this: http://www.discountschoolsupply.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?product=25153&category=797. Hangers for dresses, cubbies for hats, etc. I'd put hooks or some small bins on a side for jewelry and maybe cubbies along the bottom for shoes.

I'm not sure that's the way I want to go. Ideally, I want something that we/she can use for years. Any ideas of what would be great for storage now and would have a long term use, too?

DS1 got a regular toy box, which he uses now and I imagine he can use for quite a while. I'd like something she can keep with her.

DS is 11 months so I don't have much dress-up experience but I'm a fanatic organizer. I might like some drawers to hide some of the clutter, although I think that drawers are harder to build. Or maybe you could put a curtain on a rod across the whole fron

I want it open so that it gets used. If DD had to push back a curtain every time, I think the costumes would continue to be in a heap on the floor :).

Maybe drawers for some accessories would be nice.

DD's preschool has the exact same one--it's great! I'm sure you'll get a lot of use out of it. I agree with you about the drawers.. Also, be sure to put the mirror there, or near-by--the kiddos love to check themselves out!

Here's another (more decorative one) that I've always liked:
